Caving in the depths of Abbey Caves

Sorry (not sorry) to the Mums in advance!

As we had reached the tip of New Zealand, we started our decent passing Whangarei one more time. Here we found the Abbey caves. These caves are undeveloped and have not been assessed for there safety to enter, you are warned before entering that it is at your own risk (this just makes it all the more exciting), hard hats and head torchers are however advised. We put on our walking boots and waterproofs, equipped with a torch we delved deep into the dark abyss of the caves. Climbing up, over and under rocks and wading through waste deep water (well for Stacey at least) following the twists and turns of the tunnels and mesmerised by the glow worms forming a starry night sky above us.
