 Meet our camper Gladis! She is a bit of an old dear 1997, but she is wonderful and smooth to drive!

Greeting Graceful Greece

Greece was full of lovely locals, great coffee and very diverse weather! We enjoyed glorious sunshine over Christmas and New Year, and then snowy cold during February. We didn’t expect it to get so cold in Greece, but it did make for some great pics! We got to spend our Christmas and New Year pet sitting 3 lovely cats in Palairos on the Western coast. We stayed for 3 weeks, and really felt like we became one of the ‘locals’, enjoying wine on the square in the afternoon sun. Especially as during this time of the year most of the town is shut apart from a few bars, and of course the Gyros place. For those of you who don’t know what Gyros is, it is Greece’s ‘kebab’, with either chicken or pork, Tzatziki sauce, chips and salad. 24 hours in Intriguing Istanbul

A little blog post on our time in Istanbul, especially written for our friends Brett and Alan.  The buzzing city of Turkey, with mosques and bazaars, and a lot of culture and history. We spent 24 hours in this amazing city. We tried our best to figure out the tram situation but from what we could work out, you either needed a tram card or small notes (10 and 5 Lyra and exact change). It is cheap though, at just under 10 Lyra for one way. It’s a shame we didn’t manage to figure it out, or should i say, had the time to figure it out, as it would have been nice to venture to the other parts on the other side of the bridges. We visited the Blue mosque but sadly it was closed for repairs for a couple of months. But we enjoyed it nonetheless from the outside. Hearing the call to prayer between the Blue mosque and the Ayasofya mosque opposite was really special, sounding as though they are singing to each other. Transiting through Albania in a Transit

Albania ended up being mostly a transit country for us. We did in total spend about 2 weeks there; 5 days making our way from our petsit in Montenegro to one in Greece for Christmas and then 6 days on the way back up to Montenegro to collect some bits that our new friends had brought back from England for us - essentials like ale, gravy granules and gas bottles! We also then wanted to go to Kosovo through Albania, but sadly when we got to the border at Kosovo they needed us to take out border insurance for our van Luna, which was going to cost €138, which was a a lot of money considering we were only going to be there for a few days. So we turned back around and went back through border control, and then got the most thorough search we’ve ever had through border control, by the Albanian police intent on finding drugs! I tried explaining to them we’d only been in Kosovo for 5 minutes, but I don’t think they quite understood! This was the closes we got to North Macedonia, just across the
